
Biography
Thembanani (Themba) Nsibande works for WWF-SA as a Programme Manager for the WWF-SA Grasslands Programme which focuses on expansion of protected areas network within privately and communally owned land located within the Grassland Biome and Strategic Water Source Areas. His work scope covers four Provinces (Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Free State), with more focus on leading and provision of management oversight on the establishment of a new and dedicated Grasslands National Park in the Eastern Cape Drakensberg Region of the Eastern Cape Province.
Themba is very passionate about working with communities of different cultures. His dream is to see community livelihoods improved through sustainable utilisation of natural resources and communities taking a lead in the conservation of biodiversity that they have been entrusted with in a more inclusive and collaborative approach.
Themba holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management, Honours degree in the same field, B-Tech in Nature Conservation (Cum Laude), National Diploma in the same field and Advanced Project Management. Most recently, he has published two Scientific Research Papers under the Supervision of Dr S.E Nkosi (UNISA).
