Biography

Desmond Ncube is a PhD candidate in Land and Agrarian Studies at the Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS), University of Western Cape. He is a Development practitioner and social justice activist whose research interests are rural development; climate and environmental justice; land and agrarian processes; mining and mineral resource governance. He holds a Masters Degree in Development Studies. His thesis focuses on transitional minerals and how they intersect with land politics and agrarian change processes with a specific focus on lithium mining in Zimbabwe.
