Biography
Sandra Bhatasara is a Research Associate at Rhodes University (South Africa) and Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology. She holds a PhD in Sociology. She has long-established interest and experience in researching on land, rural livelihoods and climate change in Zimbabwe. Having a background in Rural sociology and Sociology of Gender and Feminists studies, she specifically engages on gender and social reproduction in agrarian contexts. She infuses intersectionality, feminist sociology and feminist political economy in both academic and action-oriented research. Working with Prof Ian Scoones on the project ‘Zimbabwe’s Land Reform after 25 years’, she will be exploring gender and social reproduction in the country’s evolving landscape.
