Mapule Maema is passionate about promoting human rights with specific reference to access to land, housing and basic services, gender justice and labour rights. She is a former employee of the Legal Resources Centre for the past five years, where she worked as a Housing and Evictions Researcher (2016-2018) and a Project Manager for the housing project funded by Comic Relief. She is currently enrolled for her Doctoral Studies in Human Rights at the University of the Free State’s Faculty of Law. She holds a Masters Degree in Reconciliation and Masters Degree in Industrial Sociology, BA Honours in Industrial Sociology, Post-graduate Diploma in International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts. She is a Board member of three NPOs that focus on youth development, land, and housing rights in rural areas (Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Free State & Limpopo). Her other areas of interest include art, fashion, wine, and sports. Driven by principles of inclusion, diversity, creativity, innovation & transformation.
