Biography
Moabi Pule is a Researcher for the ANC Parliamentary Caucus, having joined in January 2019. He supports study groups on Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment; and Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development. He supports Members of Parliament in their oversight functions and conducts programmed research on policy issues. Moabi previously worked as a Client Service Officer for the Department of Labour, as well as being an elected provincial shopsteward for NEHAWU and Secretary of COSATU Welkom Local. He has also tutored second-year political science students at Wits University and conducted research for the Wits History Workshop on apartheid forced removals. Moabi co-founded the non-profit organisation New Race, accredited with the UN ECOSOC in 2016. Moabi’s academic background includes international relations, political studies, and human rights. He has participated in a flagship programme on development, welfare economics, and human rights between Bard College and Wits University, and has an interest in political research, political economy, human rights, Africa’s international relations, and Asia-Pacific studies.
