
Biography
Mathokone Innocent Lebepe is employed as a Section Ranger in Mapungubwe National Park outside Musina, Limpopo, South Africa. He has worked for SANparks for 11 years where he started as a Field Ranger in April 2011 and then got promoted to Ranger Corporal. In 2015 He was promoted to take up a position of a Section Ranger and since then he has been responsible for the conservation management, stakeholder engagements, and law enforcement duties. After completing Matric, he decided to pursue a career in nature conservation where he completed a National Diploma in Nature Conservation at Tshwane University of technology. Lebepe is currently registered for his last year in BSC Honours in Environmental Management. Since his career history, I have been awarded with the following awards:
- Best nature conservation student of the year award. Awarded by the Endangered Wildlife Trust.
- Outstanding performance in the workplace. During the SANParks regional awards in 2013.
- Best Ranger Post of the year during SANParks 2019 Kudu awards.
- Kudu ward for best Performance in the workplace during SANParks 2022 kudu awards.
His hobbies are hiking, gardening, fishing, cycling, and Wildlife photography.
