Júlio Onofre Rainde is a Mozambican citizen based in Nampula, north of the country. His background is in Agriculture, and he holds a Masters degree in Public Policy. Currently he is pursuing a PhD in Development and Sustainability Program at Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.
Regarding his work experience, he could highlight his work on natural resource policy and public-private partnerships. In his current job they are creating evidence to change policy of subsidies in cashew pesticides. In addition, and related to cashew, they are promoting expansion of commercial cashew orchards that require large areas of land. This rises always debates on land to other crops and we have to deal with it.
