Biography
Lameez joined the Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS), University of Western Cape, as the Manager of Finance and Operations in November 2023. With over a decade of expertise in financial management, operations, and administration within academic institutions, Lameez brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. She is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective management of all financial, support, administrative, HR, and contractual functions essential for PLAAS’s operational functioning. Lameez excels in financial planning, reporting, and procurement, ensuring alignment with university and donor requirements. She provides comprehensive administrative, logistical, and project support to researchers, driving seamless project implementation and resource optimisation. With a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Cape Town, Lameez combines academic acumen with practical experience to drive operational excellence and contribute to PLAAS’s mission of advancing research in poverty, land, and agrarian studies.
