Innocent Chamisa is an early career multilingual international development practitioner with domestic, regional and international experience and exposure. His expertise is pivoted on a strong international -interdisciplinary academic and professional background, and a well-built understanding of global contemporary development and humanitarian issues glued with development law mastery. Proven skills in Rule of Law advisory, Agricultural Development, Youth Work, Land Policy Formulation; Multi-stakeholder engagement; ICT4D, research, communication, advocacy, knowledge and social media management.
Innocent is an active, inspirational and very engaging young leader who has proved his ingenuity in all spheres of development. He is a creative and a strategic young leader, who is intrinsically motivated and has emerged as a global force in development. A 2018 and 2019, Next Generation Global Social Media Ambassador for Food Security under Chicago Council on Global Affairs. Innocent enjoys the Science-Policy and Practice nexus, and he is a pro-poor advocate. Innocent worked for The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, (FAO) in Algiers, and Rome as an International expert in sustainable production systems. Currently in Zimbabwe, he is as a Junior Land Specialist. Where he is Supporting the formulation of a Comprehesive and Gender Sensitive National Land Policy guided by the FAO VGGTs. He also worked for many local and international NGOs supporting agriculture, rural development, ICT4D, and youth projects in Zimbabwe, Algeria, Tunisia, Sweden, Italy and the USA.
Innocent is a scholar who holds a Master of Jurisprudence -Major Rule of Law for Development at the Loyola University Chicago -School of Law. A Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Rural Development and Natural Resource Management from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. A Masters (MSc-1) in Land restoration, development and Management anda bachelor of Science Honors (BSc. Hons) degree in Agribusiness and Management of Agro food processing industries, both obtained from Blida University in Algeria. Innocent also holds a Professional International Certificate in Information, Communication and Technologies for Development from Italy. Innocent is currently pursuing a MA in Reconciliation and Peacebuilding with The University of Winchester-UK.
